About
Samuel Ventimiglia is a fractional Chief Technology Officer based in London, operating through Cuko Ltd. The work below sets out the experience, technology stack, and operating principles he brings to engagements.
Seventeen years, four industries
Over the past seventeen years Samuel has led engineering across crypto-native finance, healthcare, AI and agent infrastructure, and cloud-native systems. Forty-plus production systems shipped, four products carried from constrained beta to worldwide scale, and three data-breach incidents handled end-to-end — including regulator engagement and board reporting.
The throughline is working closely with founders and boards to align engineering decisions with the business model, with feedback-loop cycles short enough that misalignment surfaces in weeks, not quarters.

How engagements run
Code lands
Hands-on engagements mean the CTO commits code, owns infrastructure, and takes architectural decisions to closure. Strategy without implementation is not a service Cuko Ltd offers.
Compliance is shipped, not bolted on
For regulated sectors, audit trails, data residency, and breach posture are designed into the system on day one — not added under regulator pressure. Three production breach engagements have validated this approach.
The board gets a straight answer
Engineering risk, technical debt, and roadmap trade-offs are communicated in business terms. Founders and boards know what they are buying and what they are deferring.
The team grows with the system
Engineering hires are made from a long-standing senior network. Team structure scales with the product without losing the founders' mental model — typically from two engineers to forty over a multi-year engagement.
